Australia’s famous slang is changing fast, with many classic expressions slowly disappearing from everyday conversations. While older generations still throw around phrases like “fair dinkum”, “she’ll be right”, and “rack off”, younger Aussies are leaning more toward internet inspired language and global trends.
Some once common Aussie sayings now sound more like something you’d hear from a grandparent than a Gen Z teenager.
