It’s the ultimate sweet treat, but searching for the best milk chocolate block among the seemingly endless options available at the supermarket.

Never fear, for the experts at CHOICE have put their taste buds on the line, trialling 19 milk chocolate blocks from brands found in Aussie supermarkets to determine the best. The taste-testers assessed each sweet treat based on a criteria of taste, aroma, texture and appearance, with those scoring 80 per cent or more receiving a CHOICE Expert Rating.

Number five on their list goes to a surprise contender – a budget option. Woolworths Belgian Milk chocolate holds its own, despite only coming to $2 per 100g.

Number four was also a surprise, this time being a no-sugar added option. Lindt Milk Chocolate No Sugar Added scored a decent 83 per cent, though it comes at a price of $9.75 per 100g.

Number three shares a rating with number two, coming to an impressive 84 per cent. A relatively new brand created by YouTube star Mr Beast, the Feastables Milk Chocolate caused a frenzy among young customers when first released due to the association.

Lindt also claimed the number two spot, with their Lindt Excellence Extra Creamy Milk scoring an 84%.

And finally, claiming the number one spot is the eye-catching Tony’s Chocolonely Milk Chocolate. The Belgium-made chocolate is priced at $5.53 per 100g and earned a rating of 86 per cent. The ”interesting design of the block,” was definitely a plus for one reviewer, with it having a “good snap, not too sweet, creamy, melts well.”
