Ferrari has shocked the motoring world, and this time it’s not just about speed!
The Italian supercar giant’s first fully electric vehicle, the Ferrari Luce, has defied its critics, with its entire planned 2027 production allocation already snapped up. Anyone wanting one now could be waiting until 2028.
When the Luce was unveiled earlier this year, Ferrari purists weren’t impressed. Its unusual styling, four doors and lack of a roaring petrol engine had some questioning whether it deserved the famous Prancing Horse badge.
But wealthy buyers clearly disagree!
The electric Ferrari packs four motors producing a staggering 772kW, rockets from 0 to 100km/h in just 2.5 seconds and boasts a top speed of 310km/h. It also offers a driving range exceeding 530 kilometres.
And the price? Australian buyers can expect to pay close to $1 million!
Ferrari hasn’t revealed exactly how many vehicles have been allocated, but CEO Benedetto Vigna says demand has been strong, even before many customers have had a chance to test drive one.
It’s a remarkable turnaround for a car that initially attracted ridicule for looking more like a futuristic family hatchback than a traditional Ferrari.
The big question: Would you buy an electric Ferrari, or is a Ferrari simply not a Ferrari without that unmistakable engine roar?
