A man in the United States got more sugar than he bargained for after accidentally ordering 60,000 lollipops online.

The order, worth several thousand dollars, was reportedly placed while his young child was playing with his phone. Days later, delivery trucks began arriving, unloading box after box of colourful treats onto his doorstep. At first, he thought it was a mistake, until he checked his account and realised the order had gone through in full. The mountain of lollipops quickly took over his home, leaving him scrambling for a solution.

After sharing the story online, the community stepped in, with locals offering to buy or take boxes off his hands. Some were even donated to schools and charities. The online retailer eventually issued a refund, but not before the man became something of a local legend.

Safe to say, screen locks are now firmly in place.
