Nintendo has announced it is stepping into the music streaming market with its new platform, Nintendo Music.

The new service allows users to dive into the company’s extensive library of soundtracks from games like Super Mario, Animal Crossing, Pokémon, The Legend of Zelda, and more.

Nintendo Music is available via the Wii and Switch, but can also be downloaded as a free mobile app. However, similar to its rival, PS Plus, users will have to sign up for a Nintendo Switch Online membership to gain access, which costs $5.95/month.

Along with music streaming and Switch Access, the Nintendo Switch Online Membership also gives access to backup cloud storage, online multiplayer mode for select titles, and a range of Game Boy, NES, and Super Nintendo games.

Last year, a rare ’90s Nintendo 64 controller was valued at £1,000 (AUD $1,965). That happened after Radiohead’s 1997 album ‘OK Computer’ was recreated using sounds from games that were released for the Nintendo 64 console.

You can start a free trial of Nintendo Music now on the gaming giant’s website.
