Australians are being urged to check their fridges, with several popular PUMP bottled water products recalled nationwide over a potentially dangerous packaging fault.
Coca-Cola Europacific Partners Australia has issued an urgent recall affecting five products from its PUMP water range, after discovering that the white sipper attached to the bottle lid could become dislodged, creating a potential choking hazard.
The recall affects both regular spring water and flavoured varieties sold across Australia.
Which Products Are Affected?
The following products have been recalled:
- PUMP Spring Water 750mL
- Super PUMP Spring Water 1.25L
- PUMP Watermelon Hit 750mL
- PUMP Berry Storm 750mL
- PUMP Lime Rush 750mL
All bottles carrying a best-before date up to and including 22 January 2028 are affected.
The products have been widely available through Woolworths, Coles, Aldi, IGA and other independent supermarkets, along with petrol stations, convenience stores, newsagents, vending machines and online retailers.
What Should You Do?
Food Standards Australia New Zealand has advised consumers not to drink any of the affected products.
Customers should return the bottles to their place of purchase for a full refund. Coca-Cola Europacific Partners advises that unopened bottles with clearly visible best-before dates can be returned.
Anyone with health concerns relating to the recalled products should seek medical advice.
The company has apologised for the inconvenience caused by the nationwide recall.
