Researchers at the University of East Anglia conducted a biometric analysis and found that the smell of freshly baked pizza reduces stress, anxiety and irritability.

The study was conducted by Professor Oli Buckley, and podcaster Theo Baker participated as a study participant. The professor measured his biometric indicators such as blood pressure, heart rate and galvanic skin response (GSR). This was done both before a football match and during the most nerve-wracking moments of football. During this time, Baker inhaled the delicious aroma of pizza. The results of the study showed that Theo showed less signs of nervousness before the game when he was near the pizza being cooked. The pizza even had a calming effect on him.
