Fuelled by celebrity stories and viral clips, like him catching a falling mic or recognising people before they speak, believers argue he’s too sharp and aware to be fully blind, suggesting it’s all been an elaborate act.
During his Cardiff concert, part of his Love, Light and Song UK tour, the 75-year-old paused mid-show to speak directly to the rumour mill: “You know there’ve been rumours about me seeing and all that? But seriously, the truth is, shortly after my birth, I became blind.”
