The Melbourne Cup Carnival is shaping up to be just as big on music as it is on horse racing, with Aussie powerhouse Vanessa Amorosi announced as the final headline act for this year’s entertainment program.
Amorosi will take to The Elms Live Stage at Flemington on Crown Oaks Day, Thursday November 5, performing after the final race.
Fans can expect plenty of familiar favourites, including Absolutely Everybody, Shine, Have a Look and Perfect.
And she’s certainly in good company!
British pop sensation Jess Glynne will kick things off on Derby Day, October 31, before international superstar Robbie Williams takes centre stage on Melbourne Cup Day, November 3.
Williams will actually perform twice, with a special appearance in the Mounting Yard before the big race, followed by a full performance after the final race.
Then, on Saturday November 7, Australian DJ FISHER will bring the Carnival to a close with his massive Off the Rails party on Champions Stakes Day.
Amorosi, whose career has spanned more than two decades, says she’s thrilled to be returning to Flemington and can’t wait to deliver a high energy show packed with hits.
And here’s some good news for racegoers. Access to the headline performances is included with general admission tickets.
So whether you’re heading to Flemington for the horses, the fashion or simply a great day out, this year’s Melbourne Cup Carnival promises plenty of entertainment well beyond the racetrack!
